My Dear Sir:
I have your favor of the 10th instant, concerning the securing of a number of prairie chickens for introduction on your reservation in New Mexico. In reply will state that I will take pleasure in doing what I can towards helping you to obtain the desired birds. of course they will have to be trapped by someone who is provided with a permit to take them. Such permits cost one dollar, and are issued by the chief game warden of the state. At present I can think of no one to do this trapping, but I shall take the matter up with students here at the University, and when I find the proper person will ask Mr. Carter to issue the permit. You will then be able to write to the party concerning terms, manner of shipment, etc.
