My Dear Sir: I have your favor of the 10th instant, concerning the securing of a number of prairie chickens for introduction on your reservation in New Mexico. In reply will state that I will take pleasure in doing what I can towards helping you to obtain the desired birds. of course they will have to be trapped by someone who is provided with a permit to take them. Such permits cost one dollar, and are issued by the chief game warden of the state. At present I can think of no one to do this trapping, but I shall take the matter up with students here at the University, and when I find the proper person will ask Mr. Carter to issue the permit. You will then be able to write to the party concerning terms, manner of shipment, etc. Yours very truly,
