Walter Kiener

Kiener received his degree bachelors degree in 1930 and his masters in 1931, both from the University of Nebraska. He began teaching at the University in 1930 and continued until 1940. He then took a position with the Conservation and Survey Division at the Universiety, which he held for 3 years. In 1943, he became a biologist for the Nebraska Game, Forestation, and Parks Commission and remained there until his retirement in 1955.

Walter Bigler Kiener was born on October 18, 1894, Switzerland. After service in the Swiss Citizen Army during WWI, he moved to the United States, first locating in New York and then Colorado. He became a citizen in 1929. Kiener died on August 24, 1959 from pancreatic cancer.
