C. Barron McIntosh graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1939. His first bachelor degree came from Huron College, in Huron, South Dakota, in 1938. Following service in WWII, McIntosh taught at the McPherson County Schools in Nebraska. He received his master of arts in 1952 and a Ph.D. in 1955. After teaching in Texas and Illinois, McIntosh returned to teach geography at the University of Nebraska. He retired from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as Professor Emeritus in 1981.
McIntosh was born on September 5, 1916 in Edgemont, South Dakota. He graduated from Edgemont High School in 1934. He and Ruby Lamb, who married in 1941, had four children. McIntosh died on May 3, 2007.
